Chris Smit 
Chris Smit is professor of media studies at Calvin College. He has performed and recorded music for 15 years in a variety of forms, most recently with the band The New Midwest. Their self-titled CD was nominated for the best rock release of 2006 by WYCE, Grand Rapids’ local radio station.
