Requests for processing and forwarding all transcripts from
Calvin College must be made in writing and include YOUR SIGNATURE.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

PAYMENTS

If I fax or email my request, can you send it out before you receive my payment?

Yes, we will process your request within 2-3 business days of receiving the request.

If I fax my request how should I pay for the transcript?

We accept Cash, Checks, or Money Orders and any of these can be mailed directly to our office.

What do I do if I have outstanding debt/bills with the College?

We cannot process your transcript request if you have a financial hold on your account.
If you think you may have a hold, please call and check with our office. If it is established that you do have a hold on your account, you can make arrangements with Rana Huisman, the Bursar, to have your transcript sent.
*You must notify our office when your hold is lifted or your transcript will not be sent.

OVERNIGHTS/RUSH

If I have an Overnight Request, what is the best method to send my request?

Faxing your request guarantees that we will see it before the mail deadline of 1 p.m.

If I want to Overnight multiple transcripts to the same address do I have to pay more than one overnight fee?

No, our overnight fee is per address not per transcript.

If I want to pick up my transcript on the spot, do I still have to pay the $12 rush fee?

Yes, the rush fee includes an overnight mailing, but you are welcome to take it with you instead.

If I request an overnight mailing to another country, will it actually get there the next day?

It can vary by county. Korea can take 2-3 days and we can check with mail services about any other country.

What Overnight Mail Service company do you use?

DHL, occasionally UPS.

If I just want an unofficial transcript do I still need to fill out the form?

Yes, we still need your signature to process unofficial transcript requests.

What is the difference between Official Transcripts and Unofficial Transcripts?

Official transcripts are on special paper (unless you attended before 1990), contain the Registrar's signature, and has the school seal imprinted into the paper.
Unofficial transcripts are on plain white paper without the school's name.
All transcripts will include your Name, Address, Month and Day of Birth, and Student Id Number.

Can I get a transcript of a specific semester?

No, your transcript will contain all semesters you attended Calvin.

If I have a hold on my account, can I still have my transcripts sent out?

Generally no. However, in rare circumstances Rana Huisman, the Bursar, can grant special approval.
