Ontario Academic Credits - Credits & Exemptions

Ontario Academic Credits (OACs) are not required for admission into Calvin's four year degree program but are recognized as university level course work. Students can recieve credit for -or- exemption from certain courses in these areas depending on the grades and if the courses are on the approved OAC list.

OAC grades of 75% or higher - Students with OAC grades of 75% or higher in the following subjects will receive Calvin credit in the specified academic areas:

OAC grades of 60-74% - Students with Ontario Academic Credit grades of 60-75% have the option of taking credit exams in comparable Calvin courses. Each deapartment offers these credit exams for a minimal fee.

Course Exemptions - Students who have completed appropriate courses in high school may be exempt from certain college course requirements. The table below sumarizes these possible exemptions:
