Regularly enrolled students may meet any core requirement by departmental examination and may, except when the department deems this inappropriate, receive regular academic credit for any course by examination. Only one exam per department may be taken unless prior approval is given by the Registrar. Such tests must be taken in lieu of registration for the course and may not be used as repeated courses. Students wishing to take departmental examinations may obtain forms from the Registrar's office and submit them to the departments from which they wish to take the exams. The student will be charged a $15.00 fee for an exemption exam and $45.00 for a credit exam. The student's performance on the examinations will be recorded on the student's record.
