Policy
for Interim Course Numbering
The
purpose of our numbering system is to enhance the college’s ability
to make the degree audit system work more efficiently. Students might
remain unaware of much of the new numbering system, but department chairs
and advisors will find it helpful. The Dean for Instruction’s office
will assign course numbers; the following is for your information only.
The numbering of courses with prerequisites will begin at 60 and
take one of three forms:
- Courses numbered
60 through 79 meet neither major/program concentration requirements,
nor core requirements.
- Courses numbered
80 through 89 meet major/program concentration requirements.
- Courses numbered
90 through 99 meet core requirements for any and all students.
