A student may choose one of two options for completing the Cross-Cultural Engagement (CCE) core requirement.

(1) Take a course that is designated as a CCE Course. This option includes:

• Most off-campus semester programs
  
• Many off-campus interims
  
• Some on-campus classes that have a required integral CCE piece
  
• Some on-campus classes that have an optional CCE piece

(2) Make your own CCE arrangements via IDIS-290. Students may initiate an independent study in which the student becomes engaged in a cross-cultural experience (IDIS-290). Here are some ideas:

• Use a summer experience for CCE
• Work through the Service Learning Center
• Use another placement or experience for CCE (e.g. independent interim)
• Participate in a CCE-approved student life program (e.g. Mosaic, Project Neighborhood)

Courses taken to meet the CCE requirement may also meet another requirement in the core. The CCE requirement is the only core course which may appear twice in the core.
