Professor of Mathematics & Statistics

Pending administrative approval, the Calvin College Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a tenure-
track position (approval pending) for the 2010-11 academic year.
It is also possible that this position could be lled as a one-year visiting position.

Requirements

The department seeks candidates who demonstrate
strong commitment to excellence in both undergraduate teaching and scholarship. Applicants should have or be completing a Ph.D. in mathematics or statistics.

Applicants from any area of mathematics
will be considered and we especially welcome applications from statisticians.

About the Department

The department has 15 full-time faculty members and graduates approximately 20 mathematics majors per year, about half of them in the secondary education program. Five graduates are currently enrolled in PhD programs, four in mathematics and one in statistics.

Applications must be complete by December 1, 2009 in order to be considered in the first round. Later applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.
