Chemistry and Biochemistry: (term position)The Calvin College Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a possible two-year term position to begin in the fall of 2008, pending administrative approval. Qualifications:The department seeks candidates who demonstrate strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and a willingness to supervise undergraduate research. The area is open, but preference will be given to biochemistry candidates or those who can interface with biochemistry (e.g., bio-analytical). The successful candidate will be able to teach general chemistry and courses in their specialty. A Ph.D. is required. About the Department:The department has 12 faculty and offers ACS degrees in chemistry and biochemistry, and has excellent facilities for teaching and conducting research. About Calvin:Calvin College is a private four-year college with an enrollment of 4,300 students. It is a Christian college in the Reformed tradition and all candidates are expected to embrace both the Christian faith as expressed in the Reformed creeds and the educational mission of the college.
