Talking Points: Multicultural Affairs Newsletter

April 2008 Talking PointsApril 08 talking points

Check out our current event-packed issue of Talking Points, It features many exciting upcoming events to help our campus accomplish our From Every Nation (FEN) goals. Look for a cultural appreciation page and information regarding Anti-Racism workshops offered for Faculty and Staff this summer. These workshops offer a chance for self-evaluation and enlightenment to work towards an anti-racist community.

The purpose of this monthly newsletter is to keep the Calvin community, and our stakeholders, abreast of the activities of our office and to provide “talking points” about the campus’ progress toward becoming a campus that is anti-racist, multicultural, accountable, and reconciling. Each month, Talking Points will strive to bring to light portions of the FEN document and the most recent MAC State of the College Report, provide advance notices of faculty and staff development opportunities focused on anti-racism and diversity, present opinion pieces from the Dean for Multicultural Affairs on matters relating to the campus’s progress toward achieving the goals of FEN, and promote multicultural observances, celebrations, and lectures.

We invite your suggestions for topics for future editions and invite you to keep talking! If you would like a hard copy of the newsletter or have suggestions, please email era4@calvin.edu
