Multicultural Lectureship FundsWhat are These Funds for?Multicultural Lectureship funds are a supplemental resource for bringing distinguished multicultural scholars or experts to lecture at Calvin College. Such lectures provide significant educational opportunities for the faculty, students, and community of Calvin College. If an academic department would like to bring a particular multicultural academic or expert to Calvin's campus and needs additional funds, these funds may supplement department resources. Networking Opportunities:These funds are intended not only to provide educational opportunities but also to build global connections with scholars and experts of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. These connections will be crucial in the future of the College; a scholar who is invited for a lecture in the present may become a valuable resource in the future for engaging other scholars of color throughout our community and our world. Who is Eligible? All academic departments on campus are eligible for Multicultural Lectureship funding. Any department applying for Multicultural Lectureship funds is required to have "departmental sponsorship" in promoting student attendance at each lecture. Other campus organizations, aside from academic departments, may invite and host Multicultural Lecturers, but only with an academic department acting on the group's behalf. How Much Money is Available? The maximum amount of funds awarded any department in a given year is $750. Who Administers These Funds?Multicultural Lectureship funds are administered by the Office for Multicultural Affairs. To Apply:
