Diversity/Social-Equality: Theory and Practice Workshop (with Michael Fosberg)

Michael Fosberg, a professional actor and diversity trainer, is the presenter for this workshop. Michael will help participants explore the categories we have for ourselves and the process by which we place others in ‘boxes’. Where does one start the dialogue, and how do we effect change? White, black, male, female, gay, straight, religions, dialects, even names affect the way we see and talk with each other. How can we respect and honor each individual, yet neutralize the bias' we carry based on group associations?

When: Tuesday, October 8, 2013, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

April "Talking Points"

It is our pleasure to offer Talking Points, a monthly newsletter from the Office for Multicultural Affairs. The purpose of Talking Points is to keep the Calvin community, and our stakeholders, abreast of the activities of the Office for Multicultural Affairs and to provide “talking points” about the campus’ progress toward becoming a campus that is anti-racist, multicultural, accountable, and reconciling.
