1.2 ARTICLES OF
INCORPORATION
Article I
The name of the corporation
is Calvin College.
Article II
The purpose or purposes,
for which the corporation is organized, either directly or indirectly,
are as follows:
- To provide students
courses in the liberal arts including, but not limited to, the sciences,
history, philosophy, professional, and pre-professional disciplines,
and in theology, which are of a positively Reformed character entirely
in accord with the doctrinal standards of the Christian Reformed Church
in North America;
- To enrich the
education experiences of its students by offering exposure to a variety
of disciplines, all from a distinctly Reformed perspective;
- To grant to students
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art,
Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor
of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Master
in Education, Bachelor of Social Work, and cooperative Bachelor of Science
Degrees based upon completion of the requirements as shall be determined
by the Board of Trustees;
- To grant such
other certificates or diplomas for less than four years training as
are appropriate to like instruction;
- To do all things
necessary or incidental to or usually done by similar types of institutions;
- The corporation
shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, age, national
or ethnic origin, or disability.
