The Practices Initiative is working to explore more systematically how existing examinations of Christian practice could inform classroom pedagogy across the wider curriculum, as well as working toward providing a fresh framework for viewing Christian higher and K-12 education, reinvigorating consideration of faith-informed teaching, and offering teachers an ecumenical, theologically informed basis for renewed practice.
This summer, the Practices Initiative cohort, which consists of educators from Calvin College and other places of higher education, will meet on the campus of Calvin College from July 28 through August 1. The group will work to establish a shared theoretical basis for the project, and to plan specific initiatives over the following twelve months.
