World Alliance of Reformed Congregations

June 14-16, 2010

Conference organized and hosted by Calvin Centers and Institutes, as an official REC/WARC pre-assembly conference

The working theme at this point is “Reformed Mission in an Age of World Christianity: Becoming Communities of Vision, Engagement, and Influence." This would be an outward focused discussion on the Reformed community's historic strengths and weaknesses, and the supportive and complementary roles that the Reformed community plays in world Christianity. One of the historic strengths of the Reformed community has been in education and principled Christian cultural thought, for example. Each Center and Institute would develop its own separate session for the conference (for example, the Meeter Center could have sessions on teaching the Reformation in a pluralistic age, arising out its past National Endowment for the Humanities-funded workshops). Both delegates to the REC/WARC assembly as well as other networks would be invited to participate, enhancing the interaction of the delegates and others.
