Chemistry 329, Spectroscopy and Instrumental Methods of Analysis

As part of a 3-week project Jeff Shoemaker measured the baseline concentrations of sodium, potassium, lithium, annnonium, calcium, and magnesiwn ions at 10 different locations in the nature preserve. Samples were taken from the surface and from the subsurface waters. The concentration of any one of the metal- ion components do not show specific trends from site to site. However, the baseline data obtained this year, will be compared with results from the next several years to understand the impact of construction near the nature preserve ponds.
