enjoy a special presentation by the students. Conference registration includes two complimentary tickets to the Saturday, June 12 parent dinner. Please reserve your place by phone; 616-526-6749.

STEP West

The STEP West Conference is a bi-annual event that gathers youth from Red Mesa (Arizona/New Mexico) and Sun Valley (California) to explore the possibilities of higher education.

Female student reading in libraryModeled after the annual STEP (Striving Toward Educational Possibilities) Conference held on Calvin's campus, STEP West is held in either Red Mesa or Sun Valley, and offers programming adapted to be relevant for youth from these areas. Students get a glimpse into the life of a college student through:

  • experiencing a campus-like setting
  • living in residence for the weekend
  • participating in model classes
  • attending expressions workshops
  • co-curricular activities
  • spiritual growth experiences

The conference is organized by Calvin College staff in collaboration with local leaders in Red Mesa and Sun Valley. The cost of meals and lodging is covered by a small registration fee.
