Choices for Calvin Faculty

The majority of faculty children attend the Grand Rapids Christian Schools, a Grand Rapids-area association that is linked to other regional Christian schools through Christian Schools International. For over one hundred years, the Grand Rapids Christian Schools have had a tradition of providing high quality education from a distinctly Christian perspective. The Grand Rapids Christian Schools consists of six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school which serve approximately 3,000 students, pre-school through grade twelve. Their mission is to prepare students to be effective servants of Christ in contemporary society.

Located just south of Grand Rapids, South Christian High School has a similar mission statement: “South Christian High School will provide a Christ-centered education, equipping students to serve God to their greatest potential.” The feeder schools for South Christian serve many of the southern suburbs, with a combined total enrollment of 2,765 students pre-school through grade 12.

To the west, there are three other nearby systems within CSI: Potter’s House Schools, Calvin Christian Schools, and Jenison/Hudsonville/Unity Christian Schools. All three include pre-school through grade 12 and each offers excellent comprehensive educational programs. Families living on the west side of Grand Rapids or the western suburbs often choose from these options.

The staff of each of these schools is committed to demonstrating Christ-like love to each student. Students are taught to love and respect one another and the Bible is the basis of all of their instruction and discipline. All of these school systems are linked with the Christian Learning Center, which offers inclusive education and resource rooms for students with disabilities or special learning needs.
