Benefits Fair and Open Enrollment

The 2009 Benefits Fair (Thursday, November 5 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex) gave faculty and staff the opportunity to visit with the college’s various benefits providers and to learn about upcoming changes that will affect Calvin’s health, dental and flexible spending plans.

Open enrollment begins November 12 and provides an opportunity to enroll in or change health or dental plans (e.g. adding dependents or changing between HMO and POS coverage) and to register for flexible spending deductions which will be effective for the first six months of 2010. The open enrollment period at Calvin ends on December 9, 2009 and any changes made to health coverage, dental coverage or flexible spending deductions are effective for the first six months of the 2010 calendar year.

Beginning in July 2010, the college is switching its benefits cycle to coincide with the budget year, so there will be an additional open enrollment in the spring covering the 12-month period from July 2010 through June 2011.
