Kalsbeek Huizenga

Two wings with one common lobby and common basements. Kalsbeek is a female hall; Huizenga is a male hall.

Built:

1988

Named After:

Wilhelmina Kalsbeek (1894-1955): Served as one of the first Christian Reformed missionaries in China.
Lee Huizenga (1881-1945): Served as a missionary and medical doctor in China.

Claim To Fame:

KH is the newest residence hall on campus. It was designed with bigger bathrooms and public areas than any of the other halls, though the rooms are the same size. A third wing is being built in time for Fall 2008 opening!

KH also houses the Mosaic Community, an intentional multi-cultural, living-learning environment where students engage with issues of diversity, multicultural citizenship, and anti-racism while living in community with one another.
