Koinonia was the first Project Neighborhood house, and the property is owned by Calvin College. Koinonia seeks to be a place of hospitality to our neighbors, including the many Calvin students who live nearby.

At the corner of Lake Drive and Auburn, Koinonia is located in the heart of the Eastown neighborhood. Eastown is an ethnically and economically mixed neighborhood surrounding a thriving urban business district. Since Koinonia isn’t affiliated with a specific church, students engage in a variety of ministries. Recently these have included attending Friendship Ministries with some of our neighbors, tutoring refugees through PARA, and working with ICCF.
