Health Services provides outpatient medical and immunization services to all registered students of Calvin College and Kuyper College (full-time students only) during the regular school year.

Reasonable charges are made for medications, supplies, tests, and treatments. A $15.00 fee is charged for each visit with a nurse practitioner or physician. Payment is made at the time of service or may be added to the student's monthly Financial Services account. For a complete listing of our charges, please view our encounter form.

We highly recommend that students check with their insurance carriers prior to their appointments to make sure that services rendered at the Health Center will be covered by their insurance plan.

Students covered by Calvin's Student Health Insurance Plan (KnightCare) will not be charged for services at the health center.

Medication Services:
We have many prescription and over-the-counter medications available at competitive pricing. Medications are dispensed by our providers and students will need to schedule an appointment to obtain refills for current prescriptions while at Calvin.

Medications are available to students on KnightCare under their health center prescription benefit. These students also receive a prescription drug card that provides a $1000 benefit for prescriptions at area pharmacies. There is a copay for medications dispensed at Health Services, and over-the-counter medications are not covered under KnightCare.

Laboratory Services:
Tests for strep, mono, and urinalysis are available on-site or specimens may be sent out to area facilities for additional testing. We also provide lab draw services for students who need regular blood work.

Outreach Programs:
Our nurse practitioners are available for small group or dorm late-night discussions and for classroom presentations. Contact us at (616) 526-6568 or health@calvin.edu for more information.
