Calculating Your Award

Students are selected for Calvin's academic scholarships based on a careful review of the following information:

  • Academic records, including GPA (unweighted), academic transcripts and class rank
  • Scores from standardized tests (either ACT or SAT)
  • The quality and content of the student's written response on the application for admission, detailing involvements, leadership, honors and diversity experiences.

GPA + ACT/SAT + Class Rank + Application Award = Total Award

Adding the award values associated with each of these criteria estimates your potential scholarship. To be eligible for any academic scholarship, students must have both GPA and ACT/SAT scores shown on this chart. In cases where your GPA falls within the top two tiers of this chart, but your ACT/SAT scores are below those shown, you will be eligible only for the GPA award (and vice versa).
