* Notes:

  1. In addition to family income, parents' assets and student income/assets are also considered. In most cases these factors do not significantly affect aid eligibility of Calvin applicants because of standard income/asset protections that are part of the need analysis formula. The amount protected depends on the number of parents, the age of the parents, and size of household. (Table based on a family size of 5)

  2. The grants and scholarships listed include federal, state, and Calvin awards. The actual amount a student receives depends on a number of factors, including financial need, academic performance, extracurricular involvement, leadership experience, honors received, and denominational affiliation. Loans listed only include standard eligibility for first-year students through the Federal Direct and Perkins Loan programs. Additional loans are available to assist in covering the total cost of attendance. The work amount listed assumes an average of 12 hours per week during the school year. On-campus jobs are available through the federal or state work-study, and college student-employment programs. Off-campus employment is also an option.
