Introduction to the CIRPThe CIRP Freshman Survey provides a detailed snapshot of the freshman class at Calvin. It asks about student's goals and educational aspirations, how they spend their time, views about themselves, details related to their college decision-making, family background and social/political views. The survey is given to first-time students at Calvin each fall before the academic year begins. Calvin has been participating in the survey for nearly 40 years. The survey is also administered at colleges and universities all across the country. Thus, not only can we evaluate how incoming Calvin students change over the years, but we can also compare Calvin students with students at similar schools nationwide.
