Keep Calvin Within Reach for All
Widely recognized for its faith commitments and academic excellence, Calvin is eager to serve young people, shaping hearts and minds to be agents of renewal throughout God’s world.
For some young people and their families, however, a Calvin education seems out of reach. Scholarships play an important role in bringing these promising students to campus.
By establishing a scholarship you can help
- close the gap between the cost of a Calvin education and a student’s resources
- attract gifted students, international students, or ethnically diverse students
- encourage students interested in a certain vocation or career path
- honor loved ones with a scholarship established in their name
Your gift means another young person will have the opportunity to explore the world through Calvin’s top-notch programs.
Join in Our Mission
Become a part of the rapidly-growing group of those who invest in Christian higher education at Calvin by establishing a named scholarship. You can choose to support one of two types of scholarships:
A Named Merit Scholarship allows Calvin to continue to attract and retain gifted student scholars. Nearly 1200 merit-based scholarships were awarded in 2006-2007. See examples of endowed merit scholarships.
A Named Need-Based Scholarship allows students with limited resources to afford a Calvin education. More than 60 percent of Calvin students qualify for need-based aid. See examples of endowed need-based scholarships.
Become a Mentor
Your scholarship gift can be so much more than just a simple check in the mail. You can
- Look forward to hearing from your scholarship recipient(s) before the beginning of the school year.
- Meet your student at the fall scholarship dinner.
- Stay in touch with your scholar throughout the year to encourage them as they pursue God’s calling for their lives.
