Including Calvin in Your Plans
You can ensure that Calvin will continue to provide a quality Christian education for generations to come by designating Calvin as a recipient in your will or estate. This kind of gift is the most common type of planned gift made to Calvin.
When you think about making Calvin a beneficiary in your will, consider both provisions for your family and for the charitable organizations you have valued during your lifetime. Then decide what portion of your estate you would like to give to Calvin. If you feel you can’t make Calvin a primary beneficiary, you may want to consider making Calvin a beneficiary that receives estate funds if your primary beneficiaries are unable to receive those gifts.
Depending on the size of your estate, there may be tax incentives for including Calvin in your will.
Language to Use in Your Will
To give to Calvin in your will, you can include the following language:
"I give ____% of the remainder of my estate (or the sum of $____) to Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan."
