What’s great about a business major and international development studies minor? I wanted to do something where I could really help people, people who are poverty-stricken, people who are just helpless. I want to build up businesses just to provide jobs and to help countries that need to be developed.

What are you working on right now? I work for Calvin physical plant, cleaning Spoelhof, Hiemenga, the library and chapel.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever done at Calvin? Participated in Rangeela (the international student talent show). I thought it was really beautiful. The first year I went to see the dancers, I knew I had to be a part of it. I was in the Vietnamese dance. It was really wonderful.

What do you want to do after graduation? I want to get an MBA in business and then probably work in the Peace Corps, starting out small and then just branching out. Actually, I might just do a couple of years in the Peace Corps when I graduate Calvin and then go to graduate school.

Quick Fact: Through the international development studies minor, students have the opportunity to study and serve off-campus in Chicago, the Netherlands, and Costa Rica. These are examples of Calvin’s 49 off-campus programs supported by the Calvin Annual Fund.
