Excellence in Research, Partners in Service

CSR logo

Welcome to Calvin's Center for Social Research!

CSR has a new logo! The double-sigma indicates the value created by summing the thoughts of many people, resulting in forward motion and collective wisdom.

As of February 1, 2008, CSR has moved from our old location in the Spoelhof Center to 2041 Raybrook SE, Suite 103. Drop in for a visit! Here's a map.

Our current major projects include the Christian Reformed Church's 150th Anniversary Survey and the Kent County Congregations Study (KCCS). The 150th Anniversary Survey focuses on recording the beliefs and practices of laypeople in over 50 congregations, The Kent County Congregations Study (KCCS) is a study aiming to document the good work of religious congregations in our county.

We exist to assist the Calvin community in studying the world of human interactions. We organize grant-funded scholarly research projects, and we believe such work is best done alongside of applied, community-based scholarly projects. For more information on working with CSR, please see our Projects FAQ.

At every step, we try to engage students in our work. We hope this website will be a helpful guide to the services, programs and ideas we offer, and we hope you will contact us when you believe we could be of service.
