To know the Light of God—Jesus Christ—who dwells with, in and among us, is to be "Son-struck!" As the Son shines his light in the darkness of our lives, he transforms us to reflect his image, his glory and his light in the world. Just as light passes through a prism and shows the diversity and range of colors that together make up that light, we too bear the light of Christ. Together we reflect the truth, hope and wonder of his piercing glory in a world over-shadowed with despair.

This is the theme for our life as a community at Calvin this year. You'll see it played out in worship, in discipleship programs, and in opportunities for service. We're convinced that these can help to let the light of Christ shine more radiantly in and through your life, so please take a few moments to discover the "colorful" opportunities that await you as we walk together in the light of God's presence.

During interim, the Calvin community studied Isaiah 60, using Arise, Shine!, a resource prepared by the office of the Coordinator of Worship, and Richard Mouw's When the Kings Come Marching In. Richard Mouw was the featured speaker at a Spring Convocation on Tuesday, February 3, in the Calvin Fieldhouse. Follow this link if you would like to see our Isaiah 60 stduy booklet. Arise, Shine!

On Easter Sunday evening, Calvin joined other Christian colleges in the Grand Rapids area to worship our risen Lord! Easter 2004
