The Center exists to coordinate and provide leadership for the project of advancing and improving intentional Christian scholarship at Calvin College. Its purpose is to promote rigorous, creative, and articulate scholarship that addresses important theoretical and practical issues.
The Calvin Center for Christian Scholarship funds a Small Grants program to encourage the initiation, continuation, and completion of scholarly projects related to the mission of the Center. Faculty are invited to apply for grants of up to $5000 in the following categories.
The Calvin Center for Christian Scholarship in cooperation with the Hekman Library, the Henry Institute, the Center for Innovation in Business, the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, Kuyers Institute, and the Provost’s Office funds an annual 5-day Writing Co-op each June to provide faculty with a protected space in which to advance or complete a specific writing project.
