- Myers-Briggs personality/career assessment administration and interpretation
- StrengthsFinder assessment administration and interpretation
- What can I do with a major in ____?
- The value of a liberal arts education
- Working in teams
- How to talk to anybody about anything
- Networking
- Resumes and cover letters
- Job searching techniques
- Interviewing skills
- Dress for success
- Business etiquette
- Technology etiquette in a Facebook world
- Your first year on the job
If the career-related topic you would like to request is not listed above, contact our office, and we will develop a presentation to meet your needs. Please call our office (526-6485) to request a presentation. Give us at least 2 weeks advance notice if possible.
2. Connecting your students with experiential education opportunities:
- Internships (download student and employer agreements)
- Mentoring program with Calvin alumni
3. Collaborating with your academic department to co-sponsor workshops or panels
4. Providing resources and test preparation materials for students pursuing graduate school
5. Coordinating credential files for students in the education department
If you are writing a letter of recommendation for a student, please use this form and e-mail it to career development, edcareer@calvin.edu. What to include:
- In what capacity you know the student and for how long
- The traits the student has that you have observed that you feel will make him/her a good teacher
Note: These files are located on one of our secure drives. The only people who will have direct access to these files are a select few individuals in career development; students also receive a copy of their recommendations and their entire credential file.
6. Providing tips for writing letters of recommendation
