Attempted Burglary in Knollcrest East Apartments

On Thursday, November 20, 2008, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., unknown persons attempted to break into a seminary apartment located in Knollcrest East.  The individual apartment was located in Omega.  There were pry marks on the door frame of the apartment where the attempted break in had occurred.  Additionally, an automatic door closer on one of the exterior doors had been detached.  The attempted break-in was unsuccessful.  There were no witnesses to this incident, and there is currently no suspect description.

Advice:

Be sure to close and lock all windows and doors to your apartment anytime you leave your apartment.  Also be sure that any exterior entrance doors to the apartment building are kept closed at all times.  Do not let strangers into the apartment building, and be careful not to allow people to “tailgate” you into your building.  Report any suspicious persons and/or conditions to the Campus Safety Department immediately. You can contact Campus Safety Dispatch at 526-3333 for emergencies, and 526-6452 for non-emergencies.
