Robert J. DoornbosRobert J. Doornbos, CPP is the Associate Director of Campus Safety at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Prior to coming to Calvin College in 1979 he worked as a deputy sheriff in various patrol and educational roles for seven years and taught junior high school for 10 years.  Mr. Doornbos has an AB degree in education from Calvin College.  He has been a member of the Michigan Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (MACLEA) since 1979, a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) since 1985, and a member of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) since 1991. He received his designation as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) in June of 1992.

Mr. Doornbos has served on the ASIS Educational Institutions National Standing Committee, as secretary and chairman of the ASIS Western Michigan Chapter, and as ASIS Assistant Regional Vice President for CPP Activities.  Mr. Doornbos is a past president of MACLEA. His current work assignment at Calvin College includes administering the access control systems on campus, designing and implementing life safety and physical security systems on campus, supervising the communications center and Campus Safety front desk operations, and maintaining department records including the department web site.
