Equipment Delivery & Setup:

We maintain an inventory of media equipment for your instructional presentation needs. Most equipment can be delivered to your office or delivered and setup in your classroom.

Equipment Operation:

In most instructional situations, you are expected to operate the equipment yourself. Operators can be available to help you get started or to stay with you, depending upon the complexity of your need. Letting us know in advance will increase the probability of an operator being available for you.

Off-the-Air and Satellite Video Recording:

We can record television programs from off-the-air,
cable-tv, and satellite sources.

We can help you understand and observe the applicable copyright restrictions by helping you license programs, helping you locate commercial sources of programs, and explaining the ins & outs of what Fair Use allows.

We shoot passport and visa photos which are ready in a few minutes.
No appointment is necessary. Two photos = $5.00

Media Transfer and Duplication:

We can transfer many forms of media, such as:

  • Audio reel-to-reel, standard audiocassette, microcassette, and audio files
    to audio-CD, wav, mp3, or other audio file formats.
  • VHS, S-VHS, miniDV, DV, DVCAM, DVCPRO, Video8, Hi8, Digital8, and 3/4" U-matic
    to DVD, mov, avi, wmv, or video files formats.
  • PAL (European format) VHS & DVD
    to NTSC (US format) VHS & DVD.
  • Regular-8 and Super8 to video.

We can capture audio and/or video which is available as a stream from a webpage, such as a clip from YouTube, and provide it in any format.

These files can be provided to you:

  • burned to an audio-CD, CD-ROM, DVD, or DVD-ROM;
  • as a email attachment (5 Meg WebMail limit);
  • copied onto your USB drive;
  • copied onto an external hard drive; or
  • copied to the network drive: S:\AV\<yournamefolder>

The Audio Visual Department can duplicate:

  • DVD
  • VHS
  • MiniDV

These services are available to faculty, staff and students for personal projects as well as college needs. Prices vary with quantity.

Copyrighted material will be duplicated according to the Fair Use Guidelines of the Copyright Act of 1976, and related regulations. If we may not duplicate your media, we can help you search for a license or another copy of the item. If you have questions about copyright, contact Randy Nieuwsma, x66076.
