There are innumerable resources designed to help families in the college search process. Many of them are available free on the web or in your school's guidance office or college resource center.

- Guidance counselors and school career resource centers
- Your high school guidance office is a great place to start. Your guidance counselor is most likely aware of many different colleges and universities and may be able to recommend some to you based on what she or he knows about your skills, goals and interests.
- Your high school's college resource center also will probably have course catalogs from many colleges and universities as well as copies of the guidebooks listed above.
