How to Apply: Homeschooled Students

Steps to Apply

In order to apply to Calvin, submit the following:

  1. Completed online application, including essays and application fee. For a paper application, contact us or print a .pdf.
  2. High school transcript * including:
    • cumulative GPA
    • course names and brief description of what was covered
    • grades earned for each course
  3. Academic recommendation,* preferably from a non-family member. If your recommendation is written by a parent, we ask that you submit a second recommendation from someone such as an employer, pastor, or youth leader.
  4. Test Scores from the SAT or ACT
  5. Transcript(s) from any college(s) you previously attended. An official transcript is required for transfer credit evaluation.

We accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the year.

 

Admission Standards: Homeschooled

  • GPA of 2.5 (on 4.0 scale) in college preparatory courses
  • ACT or SAT scores: see below
  • 3 years of college prep math, beginning with Algebra 1
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree (GED)
  • These are the minimum requirements for admission. A first-year student profile reflects the middle 50% of our students.

Completed applications are considered on a rolling basis until the deadlines below.

International April 1 Dec. 15*
*We do not accept international applications mid-year unless you are an international student in the U.S. who is transferring to Calvin.
