U.S.News & World Report ranks Calvin among the top tier of national Liberal Arts Colleges. Calvin also appears on a list of Up-and-Coming Schools and the top 25 schools committed to undergraduate teaching.
Calvin ranks second nationally among baccalaureate institutions for the total number of students who study abroad and fifth in the baccalaureate category for the total number of international students studying on campus.
In 2010, the college was given the Green Award for "greatest green initiatives" in the Grand Rapids area. Calvin is developing new ways to be smart about using the environmental resources God provides.

Calvin is a four-year undergraduate liberal arts institution. We choose to call ourselves a "college" rather than a "university" to accentuate our commitment to undergraduate education.
