Political Science
Working Together for Public Justice

Student in class

Politics takes its most dramatic form in clashes over nuclear weapons, environmental protection, civil rights, criminal justice, taxation, and the economy. However, politics also takes the important but less dramatic form of people overcoming their differences and working together to find solutions to common problems.

The Political Science Department at Calvin strives to give students the knowledge and skills to analyze and participate in the political world. Using this knowledge and these skills in the name of Jesus Christ, students learn to promote public justice that reflects Christ-centered concepts and values.
