A physical therapist takes a personal approach in helping an individual cope with disabilities resulting from an injury, disease, or a developmental disorder, or in improving the performance of workers or athletes. The work combines advanced training in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques with strong interpersonal communication skills.

A physical therapist may work in a hospital, private physical therapy office, community health center, corporate or industrial health center, sports facility, rehabilitation center, nursing home, or school. Physical therapists are in high demand with more available career opportunities than trained professionals to fill them. This career offers an excellent opportunity for Christian service to people in need of specialized assistance.
