The social work profession is dedicated to meeting the needs of others. Calvin offers a social work curriculum that integrates the teachings of the Bible with the knowledge and skills used by social workers in order to equip graduates to effectively and professionally serve others.

Overview

As a social work major at Calvin, you'll prepare for a career of Christian service as a generalist social work practitioner. This BSW program combines courses in social work with a strong liberal arts core curriculum. The major culminates in the community practicum experience, in which you'll spend 400 hours as an intern at social work agency either in Grand Rapids, Chicago, or Washington D.C.
