Work hard, play hard. Recreation is a crucial part of a healthy lifestyle. Majors and minors in this program learn to be leaders in their field.

Overview

This professional program leads to a bacheolor of science in recreation degree. As a recreation major at Calvin, you will choose from three areas of concentration: therapeutic recreation, recreational leadership and community/commercial recreation. These programs all require additional courses work in mathematics, psychology and social work. They also include an internship component and many opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the field.

Student involvement

Help Calvin host the Special Olympics; Participate in intramural sports; Volunteer at local senior centers or schools; Become a Big Brother or Big Sister; Work at the pool, fitness center, or indoor track as a student employee.
