A classroom introduction to archaeology with emphasis on archaeological theory, field work methods, artifact processing, and data interpretation. The course is designed to introduce students to the theoretical concepts of archaeology, participation in field work, and the critical reading of archaeological reports in both the old world and new world archaeology. It serves as a prerequisite for Interdisciplinary 340. Offered alternate years.
