HIST-267   20th Century Europe

From World War I to the present, this course examines the social, cultural, and political implications of the century?s major events such as the two World Wars, the rise of totalitarianism, the Holocaust, the Cold War, the founding of the European Union, and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Special attention is given to the enduring tension between European unity and national particularism as well as to the burden of the European past.
