350 B.C. to A.D. 900. (3) F.  A study of Near Eastern civilization from the conquests of Alexander to the early Islamic Caliphates, that is, from 350 B.C. to A.D. 900. Particular emphasis is placed on the cultural syncretism of the age, which saw the development of Judaism and the emergence of Christianity and Islam. Scientific, technical, artistic, social, religious, and political developments will all receive attention.
