ENGR-306   Prin of Environmental Engring

A study of environmental engineering and science principles relevant to engineered and natural systems. Topics considered in this course include an overview of the domains of environmental engineering; relevant units of measurement; population dynamics; contaminant types, sources and presence; chemical stoichiometry, equilibria, and kinetics; mass and energy balances; mass/particle transport processes; microbial ecosystem structure and function; biogeochemical cycling; and oxygen demand. Prerequisites: Engineering 209, or permission of the instructor.
