(3). F. A focused study and critical evaluation of the nature and content of adolescent literature, including intensive reading, application of literary standards, and discussion of issues in the field of young adult literature such as censorship, selection criteria, reader-response  theories, ethnicity, and gender-based criticism. Prerequisite: English 295 or permission of the instructor. The prerequisite is waived for students in the Elementary Education Program.
