Work with young children requires specialized knowledge of the field of early childhood education. EDUC 238 will equip students with knowledge and skills for developmentally appropriate practice for young children. This course includes anti-bias perspectives, pedagogical strategies including the importance of play in learning, classroom management, the use of technology with young children and reflection on practice. A one hr. practicum during the P-12 school day will be included. EDUC 238 will be offered during the Spring Semester of odd-numbered years.
