CAS-316   Directing for Stage & Screen

An introduction to the practice and theory of directing. Through readings, critical analysis of scripts, discussions, performance exercises, and critique of live and filmed performance, students develop an understanding of the directing process from the inception of the script to the final product. Students create a full directorial analysis of a script and produce several finished scenes, applying rehearsal techniques, working with actors and learning to enhance their own productions through careful criticism and thoughtful assessment of the art of directing.
