BIOL-336   General Microbiology

A study of the structure, function, genetics, and metabolism of microorganisms, including consideration of their role in biogeochemical cycles and environmental quality, food production and spoilage, disease, and as tools in genetic engineering and industry. Three hours of lecture and two two-hour laboratory sessions per week. Prerequisites: Biology 224 (or 141) and Chemistry 253 (or 261 and 262).
