F and S. This course studies the structures, functions, and evolution of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells at the molecular, subcellular, and cellular level. Fundamental concepts of genetics are studied including Mendelian genetics and molecular genetics. The course introduces basic historical, philosophical, and biblical frameworks for the study of biology. Applications of course concepts to contemporary issues in biology are also considered. The laboratory consists of investigations in molecular biology, cell biology, and genetics.
